Jamorama Review
Jamorama is the online guitar lessons course that has helped me out when I first got inspired to learn guitar. It has also helped over 200,000 students. I think it is a great way for beginners to start out because they teach all of the basics such as…
- The Major and Minor Chords
- Barre Chords
- How to Read Tabs
- How to Play By Ear
- Developing a Feel for Music
- Guitar Techniques Like Hammer-Ons, Bends, and Slides
- Lessons On Soloing and Playing Lead
- The CAGED System
- Developing a Deep Understanding of the Fretboard
- Song Lessons
Usually guitar lessons cost a lot because you pay a teacher by the hour which can be anywhere from $15/hour to over $30/hour. Not only that but you would have to commute. With Jamorama you learn from the comfort of your home and you only pay a one time fee for a year supply of lessons.
The award winning guitar teachers at Jamorama provide you with step-by-step video lessons that take you from a complete beginner to an advanced guitar player. What I really liked about Jamorama is that they understand exactly what aspiring guitar players want to achieve and that is being able to play any song just by listening to them.
Starting out I got really frustrated because whenever I heard a song I could never figure out how to match the sounds on my guitar. But Jamorama takes care of that because they show you how to progress very quickly with effective exercises. Their course helped me have a deep understanding of the fretboard so I know where to easily find any note or chord.
But more importantly their lessons taught me how to listen to any song and not only play along but come up with my own arrangements. Now I feel like I can translate any song within a few minutes. Before I would watch other guitar players do this and be blown away by their skill of playing by ear.
So what exactly do you get with the Jamorama guitar course? For a one-time fee you get…
- Over 250 Pages of Step-By-Step Lessons
- A HUGE Chord Book Complete with 216 Chord Shapes to Master
- About 150 Video Guitar Lessons
- Lessons On How to Play 8 Different Styles Such as Blues, Rock, and Metal
- An Ear Training Game that Will Teach You to Translate Songs with Ease
- And More!
Jamorama has helped me develop my guitar skills which is why I highly recommend it to beginners.
Why Jamorama is Ideal for Complete Beginners
I am going to say this right off the bat. Jamorama is not for intermediate players. If you are a good guitar player who knows but the guitar techniques, knows all of the major and minor chords, has a good understanding of the fretboard through some basic guitar theory, and has a keen ear for music then Jamorama is not for you.

Is Jamorama For You?
However if you are a complete beginner who would like to learn how to read tabs, learn all of the most commonly played chords, and have an excellent understanding of the fretboard then Jamorama can help out a great deal.
If you want to have accurate song lessons as well then Jamorama is for you. When you are a complete beginner with guitar you will look at the fretboard with confusion. So to start out you need to learn the major and minor chords. The chords are the basis for all music played on the guitar.
It really helps in the beginning to learn how to read tabs and maybe look up some easy songs. But after the beginners stage I highly recommend you drop the tab books and instead learn how to play by ear. This is best done through a powerful skill called transcribing. Basically this means to come up with your own tabs strictly by listening to songs yourself and trying to figure them out just by listening to them.
Clearly this is a more advanced skill but it is best to start out training your ears right away. It is the more natural way to learn rather than with tabs. Seriously, do you think the most legendary guitar players learned through tab books? Heck no, and neither should you if you want to playing to be a pleasure to listen too.
Jamorama can certainly help you train your ears. It has a software that will make training your ears fun because they make a game out of distinguishing chords. You can check out my Jamorama Review for more insight.
Be honest with yourself. Are you a good guitar player already who can listen to a new song and then figure it out within minutes and play along with your guitar? If not then you should take guitar lessons and Jamorama is one of the most comprehensive lessons.
They don’t bother with any of that complicated stuff. You want to sound great on guitar and have your music flow. That is what they teach. So if that is what you want to learn you can check out their website or read my Jamorama Review.
Learn to Play Guitar with These 7 Tips
A while ago when I was just getting into learning how to play guitar I was lost. I had a slight idea on how to learn to play guitar. I mean the obvious way was to go to my local music store and pay a teacher by the hour for guitar lessons.
But the problem I had was that it was too expensive for me. At the time my plan was to save up for college. It can be quite expensive doing that so I did some reasearching online and found a wealth of information on how to play guitar. There are free lessons as well as paid lessons which both helped me out very much. So the tips I present to you today are based on my own experience of learning.
1) Toughen up those hands. When you first start playing guitar it is going to be awkward just like anything else you just start out doing. Your hands need to adjust to forming chords. They may not be able to stretch out that much to form barre chords but give it time and practice. They will develop well. Also your finger tips will get sore really fast. Don’t be afraid of developing calouses on your finger tips as they will go away as they toughen up and you get better at playing.
2) Speed up the learning curve by learning how to read tabs. Tabs are the easy way of reading music. The internet is loaded with guitar tabs for just about any piece of music whether it is a rock song or even a piano piece. I would not grow too accustomed to playing with tabs as you will want to play by ear and feeling as I will get into.
3) Learn all of the major and minor chords. After you learn how to read tabs which takes a few minutes you will be able to read chord charts and understand the position of the open chords. Then you should learn barre chords and how to move them up and down the fretboard.
4) Don’t waste your time on a cheap guitar. I know it is tempting to buy a guitar from an electronic store because they are under $100 but they are that cheap for a reason. They are not designed very well for a serious player who wants to learn how to play lead and use guitar techniques like bends. Not only that but they have a very shallow sound. You can still get a decent guitar for less than $300 at your local music store. Just ask them what they recommend for a beginner musician.
5) Learn to play guitar by ear. Of course you will have to learn the chords before you try and play songs. Playing by ear is very important. Just imagine being able to listen to a song on the radio and picking it up right away with your guitar. Understand that a lot of songs will have variations of the major and minor chords so it will take time to get down. So at first you should just listen to chords and notes being played so that you can tell the difference between them.
6) Don’t get ahead of yourself. In order to become an advanced player you need to build a solid foundation for high level playing. This is done by mastering the basics. The basics of guitar is rhythm, tuning your guitar, and developing your ears for music.
7) Develop a feel for music. You do this simply by spending hours upon hours of listening to your favorite music and playing along to it. You can tell the difference between an OK guitar player and a good guitar player just by listening to how well their music flows. theis is what musicians strive to master. You want to be a pleasure to listen to so make sure to sharpen up that playing by practicing.
Don’t just practice, strive to play well every time you play. Otherwise you will never progress.
Jamorama Review
Welcome to my Jamorama review. It is the most popular online guitar lessons course and for a good reason. Jamorama takes the complete beginner and makes them learn guitar through a very easy to understand process.

Not only is Jamorama loaded with comprehensive guitar lessons, it makes learning guitar fun with softwares and video lessons. For example it comes with a software called Guit-Ear-It which is a game designed to train your ears so you know what chords are being played. This is why I made this Jamorama review. Jamorama Guitar
What is great about learning guitar with Jamorama is that it is not a subscription based site like most guitar lesson sites. You just pay a one time fee rather than having to go out and pay a guitar teacher by the hour or have to pay a monthly fee.
You learn guitar from the comfort of your home with Jamorama. Once you learn how to play well and your fingers get used to forming chords you will get so anxious to improve your playing because you will realize how fun it is. My thanks goes out to Jamorama.
I hope you are enjoying my Jamorama review. Jamorama is giving away free guitar lessons so be sure to check them out. Another thing I wanted to talk about was using guitar tabs. Jamorama teaches you how to read guitar tabs inside their online guitar lessons course.
There is really nothing wrong with learning guitar with tabs. But honestly there comes a certain point when you will want to train your ears which is what is included with Jamorama. Playing guitar by ear is one of the most powerful skills you can have. It is almost like you are a musician rather than just a guitar player. This is an important guitar lesson I learned within Jamorama.
In this Jamorama review I am talking about a skill known as transcribing music or in other words listening to music and then being able to translate it on your guitar. Most guitar players do not practice this skill but I feel it is way more important than learning by tabs. When you first get into the basics of guitar be sure to follow the Jamorama course but keep this skill in the back of your mind.

Guitar tabs give you that extra boost early in the learning curve as Jamorama suggests. But you should eventually quit the guitar tabs altogether so you can focus on mastering the art of listening to songs and then trying to play them on your own with a guitar. But first make sure to build the foundation of high level playing with this Jamorama review.
Jamorama guitar lessons start out with the major and minor chords as well as some scales. It is important to have at least a basic understanding of the fretboard. That is why you might want to learn about guitar theory. Inside Jamorama they teach what is known as the CAGED theory which is a great start.
Jamorama Review
So if you feel Jamorama is for you then I highly recommend at least checking out their free guitar lessons. I believe it is one of the best ways to learn how to play guitar. That is what this Jamorama review is all about. So to recap the best way to learn guitar is to learn and master guitar basics such as the scales, rhythm , and the chords. Then touch on some more advanced stuff like guitar chord theory. All of this is covered inside Jamorama.
Then after like 2 or 3 months of playing guitar like this with Jamorama you will want to master listening to music and translating it on your guitar. Playing by ear is what all the greats had to master. They did not even start out with guitar tabs. They had to teach themselves everything even the major and minor chords. But you should not ignore the information you have nowadays like within this Jamorama review.
Jamorama is possibly the best online guitar course as it teaches you only what you have to know which is the basics. Then you just listen to your favorite music and teach yourself to play the tunes using your ear. Hope you enjoyed this Jamorama review.
Jamorama Guitar Guide – How to Practice
There is something very important I learned inside the Jamorama guitar course and that has to do with practicing. You need to practice the right way or else you will take forever to really get it all in. Also check out my Jamorama review.

Jamorama Lessons Review
There are going to be aspects and guitar skills you will not want to practice and there will be other aspects you cannot wait to get into. For example you may love studying music theory and how it is applied to guitar but if you do not take the time to listen to music and play along with it you will never develop the feel for it.
You should balance your practice time between studying music theory and training your ear. By studying music theory and how it is applied to the fretboard you will have an intellectual understanding of the guitar. So you will know where certain notes are by using such ideas as the CAGED theory. You can learn about this inside the Jamorama guitar lessons.
But then learning by ear is different. It is related to getting a feel for rhythm and music. It is how some of the greatest guitar players and musicians became so good. They just listened to music and played along. But they did it so much that it because second nature and they could match the sounds of a song on the guitar quite easily.
Lots of new guitar players will jump in and ask for tabs on this song or that song. But this is a more mechanical way to learn. Think about it like this. If you spent all of your practice time looking up tabs for new songs you wanted to learn then you would never develop your ear. There is a helpful software inside Jamorama that can help you with this. Read Jamorama review for more insight.
However if you just took some time to learn music theory and listen to songs while trying to play along the best you can your mind and body would get used to it. This is what it is all about. You can start out learning tabs but at some point you are going to want to learn guitar the more natural way and train your ears.
Hendrix once said that the blues is easy to play but hard to feel.
Another important thing I wanted to talk about with practice is consistency. I learned from Jamorama that it is best to practice every day even if it is for just 15 minutes. This is a better way of practicing then say practicing for an hour one day then not even touching the guitar for the next 2 days. Have a look at my Jamorama review.
For more tips and tricks check out Jamorama.
Jamorama Lesson – Should You Bother with Theory?
Guitar theory is a very interesting topic indeed. Most beginners would not even bother with learning about musical theory because they make up excuses like you don’t need it, the greatest guitar players who ever lived didn’t study it, I don’t want to go to school for music. Jamorama has a great section on a basic concept of guitar theory. Check out my Jamorama review as well.
The truth about theory is that you don’t need it. You can be like most self-taught guitar players and just play by ear. Playing by ear is in my opinion more important because it is like developing a feel for music. You sound much better when you immerse yourself with music and really take the time to sound good on guitar.
Jamorama Guitar Theory
But having the theoretical knowledge will not hinder your ability to hear in anyway. If anything it will make you a better musician. Musical theory is what you would learn about on a deep level if you were to go to college for music.
Sure there are plenty of guitar players and musicians that don’t learn theory or go to school for music. But you can bet your sweet a$$ that lots of musicians do learn about theory. The great thing about musical theory is that you will progress faster once you understand it.

It gives you a very good understanding of the fretboard. Jamorama guitar lessons can certainly help you out with this. When starting out you will look at a guitar fretboard and have no idea how to get certain sounds on the guitar. But once you learn the major and minor chords you will have a very basic understanding of the fretboard.
But then after learning some chords and scales you will hit a plateau and not really understand how you can learn songs faster. This is what guitar theory is all about. Once concept of theory you can learn in the Jamorama ebook is what is known as the CAGED theory which teaches you about the positions of the chords and how they can be brought up and and down the fretboard for different sounds. Learn how to play guitar with this Jamorama review.
Let’s say you wanted to learn this awesome song you just heard but feel it is a little too complex as it goes further than using a simple chord progression. If you have taken the time to learn guitar theory like with Jamorama you can figure out the key of a song.
Jamorama Reviewed
Then figure out the chord changes from there. Having a strong ear for music can obviously help you out. But once you know what notes sound good together you will be able to play lead better. It is all about knowing what chords and notes sound good together.
Some musicians are so immersed in music they can listen to a song and throw in their own improvised version of it to make it sound genuine but still very good because they understand how to put notes in together. Also be sure to read my Jamorama guitar lessons review.
I guess the point I am really trying to make with guitar theory is this. It speeds up the process of learning and mastering guitar. It is hard work because unlike just training your ear by listening to music and playing along you are studying the fretboard in a more intellectual way. It may seem boring but if you go through it you will be rewarded.
Besides I suspect that the greats do understand theory but not in the way schools will teach you. Start out with the CAGED theory in the Jamorama course to get started.

This is how you can really disect each song and practice at your own speed. Jamorama got them in on this deal as well. This is a wonderful guitar software to have in your arsenal of tools for mastering the guitar.
Jamorama Package
So that wraps it up. They also have a bonus package for $20 that includes a membership to a vocal lessons site called Singing Success. I actually am not very big on singing so I stuck with the basic package that includes only the guitar lessons sites.

Learning Guitar From the Comfort of Your Home – Jamorama
Back in the day if you wanted to learn guitar you had to go out and take lessons from a teacher in person. Way back in the day you could not even do that because lessons were not really given then. Heck the true power of guitar was barely even discovered back then. Think back to when guys like Eric Clapton and Jimmy Page were starting out.
Nowadays you can learn from the comfort of your home with a guitar lessons course like Jamorama. It is a guitar course you take online. Think about like this. Now that the internet has really blown up we have all the information we need to learn about anything at all. You can learn to play guitar within this Jamorama review.

Jamorama
And that includes guitar. I am not saying you should turn your cheek away from learning from a teacher in person but you can certainly learn a lot just from going online and reading up on concepts such as guitar theory.
Jamorama can help you along the way. They have all sorts of videos, ebooks, and helpful software to get you playing like a pro in no time. As a complete beginner I highly recommend you start out by mastering the basics which include learning the basic chord shapes. The chords you should start out learning are the major chords like the A, E, and D chords. Check out my Jamorama review for more chord structures.
Then you can ramp up the learning surve by learning some scales and barre chords. Start listening to your favorite music and try to match the sounds on your guitar. Sure you can learn from a guitar lessons course like Jamorama but you will not improve your playing unless you actually sit down and play.
The better you want to play, the more disciplined you will have to be. Jimi Hendrix once said “Sometimes you want to give up the guitar, you’ll hate the guitar. But if you stick with it, you’re gonna be rewarded.”. It is rather hard to believe that someone who was so passionate for something said something like that.
But it is the truth. You cannot give up guitar. Heck you do not even have to learn with Jamorama if you do not want to. But it can cut the learning curve in half. Start off learning and mastering the basics of guitar.
Like I said it is best to learn the basic chord structures just so you have an okay understanding of the fretboard. Then move onto learn the more advanced skills like guitar theory and playing by ear.
Then you can develop feeling for the instrument once you have truly immersed yourself in playing the guitar. You will get so into it by learning and copying other masters which is the way to go. Then once that has gotten boring you break free from the learning curve and go off on your own.
By this point you will probably be so skilled you can write songs and come up with your own arrangements for songs based on how you hear them. Jamorama can be the start of all this. Read this Jamorama review to learn guitar.
Jamorama Review – 7 Ways to Improve Your Playing
I know that the only real way to get better at something is by practicing as much as you can. Of course this is how you will improve but this can get boring after a while as you may hit a plateau which is why I am going to give you some ideas to keep your guitar playing fresh. Feel free to check out Jamorama as well as it is a helpful guitar course.
Jamorama Review
1) Learn how to read tabs. If you are a complete beginner t guitar playing then learning how to read tabs gives you a nice boost. You can learn songs just by going on the internet and looking up the tabs for whatever songs you would like to learn. Tabs are like sheet music only much easier to grasp at first. You can learn how to read them in a few minutes. Jamorama has a great way of teaching this. Check out this Jamorama review.
2) Discover how to play just by hearing. The best guitar players whoever lived never really took lessons or looked up tabs. They had to basically learn strictly by ear. This is not really as hard as it seems but it does take more practice than learning by tabs. Obviously you can do both to really spread your knowledge. Playing by ear is a wonderful skill to possess. Just think about it. You can hear a song you have heard before and start matching the sounds on your guitar. Jamorama has a great software called Guit-ear-it that really helps train your ears.
3) Learn some guitar theory. Of course when you are a beginner you should start off with the basics of guitar which includes the scales and the chords. This is just so you have somewhat of an idea of the fretboard. Read this Jamorama review for more insight. But then you will hit a plateau and your playing can only go so far. That is why learning guitar theory will be so effective. It will give you a lot more understanding of the fretboard. Jamorama of course includes one of the best guitar theories to learn as a beginner known as the CAGED theory.
4) Incorporate some feeling into your playing. The great thing about the guitar is that you can really put feeling into your playing. Your hands are playing the strings directly which means you can bend them, hammer them, and slide from fret to fret. Make sure to practice these techniques to give your sound more volume. Yet another aspect of guitar included in the Jamorama lessons course.
5) Get your rhythm down. So many guitar players skip over the basics like learning to keep time. How can you be a good guitar player if you cannot even hold down a basic beat. This takes practice and can be mind numbing. My suggestion is to listen to your favorite music whether it is blues or punk rock. Then play along to develop a sense of rhythm. Within this Jamorama review you will learn more about the basics of guitar.
6) Learn how to play a piano piece on guitar. This goes past anything you have probably heard of. At some point you are going to stop thinking of yourself as a guitar player and more of a musician. Good guitar players can become so akin to playing that they can hear a song on piano and then play it on their guitar. This is directly related to learning to play by ear. Train those ears by using a good software like the one that comes with Jamorama.
7) And of course practice. There is a saying on practice that goes “Practice makes perfect.”. But there is an even more insightful saying that “Perfect practice makes perfect.”. When you are practicing an instrument, sport, or a job you can practice all day but unless you really push your mind and body you will stay at the same level you are on.
For some great online guitar lessons make sure to check out this Jamorama Review. These can really help improve your guitar playing.

I cannot stress enough how important it is to learn to play guitar by ear. That is the best way to learn guitar in my opinion so Jamorama can certainly help out with that.
Jamorama may not be for everyone. Mainly it is just for beginner guitarists who have not gotten past the basics. If you cannot even play some beginner guitar songs then you may want to check out Jamorama review. But if you fancy yourself a fretboard wizard then I just recommend you keep doing what you are doing.
Jamorama
To become a guitar god all you really do is learn and master guitar basics which is what Jamorama is all about. It is a wonderful online guitar lessons course. Inside Jamorama review I get more into how to play guitar by ear and such. Also I am not sure if you know about transcribing music but that is another guitar skill that Jamorama touches on.

Jamorama has helped me take guitar more seriously which is why I am confident it can do the same for you. Bare in mind that it is not about the amount of hours you put into your practice, but the amount of practice you put into your hours. This is what you will learn inside this Jamorama review.
